Why Join Chamber?

Networking

West Babylon Chamber of Commerce not only advocates for its members, but also brings professionals together to learn from their experiences and successes. Attending chamber of commerce events can help you stay up to date on issues that affect the community – and events can take on a range of shapes and sizes, with attendees from all industries and backgrounds. Becoming a member is a great opportunity to increase the reputation and reach of your business, and also to make a difference in your community. No matter what your expertise, you are sure to make new business contacts through us, and expand your company’s visibility through a variety of channels.

Credibility

Joining our chamber can positively affect other organizations’ perceptions of your business, as well as your customers. Consumers may be more likely to purchase from a credited business in our chamber strictly based on perception and word of mouth. Plus, some businesses may give discounts and incentives for chamber members, a great advantage for small or new entrepreneurs. The reliability and trust your company gains through chamber of commerce membership will boost perception of your brand as an industry leader, and possibly give you the potential to increase revenue.

Support

Whatever endeavor you envision – we can help.  We have a great relationship with our Town of Babylon government, and can help give your business a stronger voice on issues that affect you, your employees, and your customers. By working together to reach common goals, and collectively advocating for better community business ideas and growth, the chamber as a voice can help improve the local business/resident community as a whole.

Exposure

Word of mouth, event participation, newsletters, member sticker and other chamber of commerce publications and public events can highlight your business and increase the visibility of your product or service. We are a great source of information for visitors, local residents, other businesses and consistently refer potential customers to members.  Involvement and Chamber events also allow you to market your business to other members, whom you might otherwise never have met.

The West Babylon Chamber of commerce can also help you know who has promotional deals and discounted sales with our "Business of the Week Program."  You can access members-only discounts and services offered by our local partnered stores.  These differ from store to store, but in our random monthly drawing of business of the month we highlight their sales and coupons offered for added savings.  For example, the local repair shop may have a "WBCC Member Only" discount program where a chamber member (resident) can receive $10 off any auto repair service if the shop is a member of the West Babylon Chamber.  Other perks may be something as simple as a recommendation or a customer referral.  Every day, your local chamber receives calls from individuals and businesses looking for potential vendors, and chamber members typically recommend chamber members.  Local chamber events and other programs can also stimulate interest.  Chamber events and programs provide members with great opportunities to get to know new people and expand their prospect base.  Chamber events are innovative and fun ways to help members meet potential customers, clients and vendors— and generate new business leads.

Visibility

Visibility

Increase your visibility in the community.  As a new member of the chamber of commerce, you will be listed in the chamber newsletter, e-newsletter, on Facebook and have the opportunity to be highlighted in other chamber publications.  You also can grow your business by advertising with the chamber and sponsoring events.  The chamber may also promote your grand opening/ ribbon-cutting ceremony and assist with any public relations efforts in our West Babylon community.

A Voice

A Voice

Gain a voice in local community and government.  The local chamber takes on the tough issues and opposes new regulations, taxes, fees, assessments and costs directed at small businesses.  It also helps protect the principles of free enterprise and aids businesses in being treated fairly.  Any suggestions, concerns, noticeable code violations or overall bad business practices can be heard from residents like you.

Business Contacts

Business Contacts

Make more business contacts with other local owners.  The chamber’s most fundamental mission is to generate more business activity for the community.  The chamber initiates more business-to-business commerce and more opportunities for networking and connecting local professionals than is available through most other local organizations.  Knowing your business neighbors on a personal level can greatly improve connectivity with retailer and customer interaction.
